Ms. Theresa Etoy Dixon, 63, transitioned to be with her Lord  and  Savior on August 18, 2024 at Atrium Health Carolinas Medical  Center in Charlotte, North Carolina following an  extended illness. We did not lose our dear Sissy, as she  was  affectionately called, she gained her heavenly wings and now rests in the bosom of Jesus.
Theresa was a 1978 graduate of Hickory High School and  was a member of the Freedom Assembly Church.
Theresa had a kind, gentle and compassionate demeanor, and  she loved her family, especially her heartbeat, her daughter,   Zaria.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death  by a brother, James T. Dixon, Jr. and a sister in-law, Sharon  Propst Dixon.
Theresa's love and memory will live on in the lives of  her daughter, Zaria D. White, of Hickory, North Carolina;  brothers, Robert Dixon and Michael Dixon both of Hickory,   North Carolina; sisters, Deborah Dixon, Rosetta Dixon and  Gladys Dixon all of Hickory, North Carolina and Patricia Lipford of Lenoir North Carolina; nephews, Christapher   Genwright of Sacramento, California, Cameron Watts and  Michael Wilson both of Hickory, North Carolina; nieces, Carrine Propst and Robin Dixon both of Hickory, North Carolina,  Ashley Wilson of Charlotte, North Carolina,  Stephanie Genwright of Omaha, Nebraska, and  Melissa Lipford of Lenoir, North Carolina; along with a host of  cousins, other relatives and close friends.
The Celebration of Life for Theresa will be held on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Walter /  Gladys Memorial Chapel of Dirk M. Thompson Mortuary 147 5th Street Court SE, Hickory, North Carolina. Family Visitation hour will be held from 12:00p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Chapel.  Dirk M. Thompson Mortuary (828) 323-1980 is assisting the Dixon family.
