Mrs. Shirley Ann James Frederick peacefully transitioned to be with her Lord and Savior surrounded by her family on May 5, 2024 following a lingering illness at Carolina Caring,
Newton, North Carolina. She was born in Catawba County, North Carolina on February 1, 1943 to the late Graydon and Lucille Hull James. She was a blessed 81 years, 3 months and 4 days old.
Mrs. Shirley was a member of Morningstar First Baptist Church. She attended Happy Plains High School and graduated in 1961.
Mrs. Frederick loved her family and friends. She especially enjoyed shopping at the Christmas Shows and other venues. She enjoyed watching sports with her favorite team being the Tarheels. She also enjoyed traveling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Caesar Frederick; grandson, Blake Frederick; and a sister, Martha James.
Shirley meant so much to so many people. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend. She leaves to cherish fond and loving memories her son,
Jeffery (Angela) Frederick of Ft. Worth, Texas; daughters, Karen (Christopher) Morrison and Teresa Wilson all of Hickory, North Carolina; grandchildren Brian O. Parson, Natasha L. Wilson, Evan D. Parson (Stacie), C. Alexander Wilson (Allison), Joshua Frederick, Nikki Wright (Kejuan), C. Christopher Wilson (Whitney), Jordan D. Wilson (Chardane),
and Brittany Dixon (Lamar); 18 great grandchildren; brothers, Robert James of Newton, North Carolina, Sidney James of Charlotte, North Carolina and Marvin (Valerie)
James of Taylorsville, North Carolina; sisters, Mary Frances Roberts of Mooresville, North Carolina and Marilyn James of Taylorsville, North Carolina; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
The Celebration of Life will take place Graveside at the Mount Carmel Church Cemetery, 132 Minnigan Lane, Taylorsville, North Carolina, 28681 at 2:00p.m. on Monday, May 13, 2024 with the Reverend David E. Roberts, II of Morningstar First Baptist Church officiating.
Family will gather for visitation on Sunday, May 12, 2024 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Walter/Gladys Memorial Chapel of Dirk M. Thompson
