Reflections

Ms. Patricia Ann Rogers was born August 13, 1954 to the late Morris Rogers and Addie Lou Hayes Rogers in Catawba County, North Carolina. Patricia was called to come home with the Lord while at her residence in Hickory, North Carolina.

Sis or Sissy, as she was affectionately called, was a Maiden High School graduate of the class of 1972. Patricia immediately began a long career in textile; working locally at Mohican Mills. She retired as a Rest Area attendant for the North Carolina Department of Transportation.

Patricia came from a long line of strong black women, and was strong as well. Patricia might not have been the largest in stature, but she was one of the strongest and smartest. Don't be fooled by her small stature, because as she would always let you know, "I'm stronger than I look!" Never always too serious, she was known to be funny and quick witted. Patricia loved to share a laugh, she loved her music, loved her Burnett's (Blue Label), and she LOVED LOVED ALL HER PEOPLE. She was always willing to help others at the drop of a hat.
Patricia was a loving mother and niece. Her kindness was one of a kind and will forever be missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one special beloved friend, Mildred Forney; two for the strength, Perry Rogers of Atlanta, Georgia and Ricky Rogers of Maiden North Carolina; two for the trouble, Matt Matt and Terry; and a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins who have gone on long before.

Left to cherish fond memories is one child, a son, Curtis (Ashley) Rogers of Hickory, North Carolina along with a brother, Jackie Rogers of Catawba County, North Carolina and many other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life services will be held Sunday, May 18, 2025 at the Walter Gladys Memorial Chapel at Dirk M. Thompson Mortuary 147 5th Street Court SE, Hickory, North Carolina at 1:00 p.m.  Family Visitation will be from 12:00 noon  until 1:55 p.m. at the Chapel. Dirk M.
