Mrs. Ollie Mae Ballou Rhinehardt, a precious servant in the eyes of the Lord, has entered eternal rest. Born on July 20, 1939 in South Boston, Halifax County, Virginia to the late Matthew and Rosa Ballou, Mrs. Rhinehardt transitioned from labor to reward on September 18, 2022 following an extended illness at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, North Carolina.
She was a graduate of Mary Bethune High School of Halifax, Virginia and matriculated to West Chester Community College in Westchester, New York and received a Nursing degree from Harlem Hospital School of Nursing. She retired after more than 28 years from Frye Regional Medical Center as a Registered Nurse. She later retired from private duty nursing.
She worked with the Democratic Party. She was a member of the NAACP, the Order of Eastern Star Pride of Hickory Chapter 519 and the Red Hatters Sassy Sistahs. She enjoyed caring for her children, grandchildren and other people and going to yard sales.
A faithful member of Mount Pisgah African Methodist Episcopal Church until her health failed, she served as a former Trustee, Stewart and was a member of the Women of Faith.
She was affectionately called Ms. Ollie by all who knew and loved her. Shewas a proud, loving, caring and compassionate person.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, George Mitchell Rhinehardt, Sr.; a grandson, Dior Rhinehardt and a brother, Clarence Ballou.
Left to cherish fond loving memories are her children; Darlene Rhinehardt (Haywood) and George Mitchell Rhinehardt, Jr. (Carol); grandchildren, Nadja Rhinehardt (Quiency), Tyree Rhinehardt both of Hickory, North Carolina and Toby Lee of Mexico; great-grandchildren Xquan Wilfong, Devan Rhinehardt, Landan Maddox, Inandi Rhinehardt, Jayden Maddox, Austin Rhinehardt and Chandler Griggs, all of Hickory, North Carolina; favorite niece, Martha Boston of Hickory, North Carolina; special friend, Patsy Lewis of Conover, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
