REFLECTIONS
"We begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget."
Ms. Janice Fay Henderson peacefully entered the joy of the Lord on April 17, 2025, at Carolina Caring, Newton, North Carolina following a brief illness. Janice battled and won victory over kidney disease for more than 15 years. Janice was born on September 13, 1950, in Catawba County to the late Jeanette H. Killian.
Janice was a beloved cousin and friend, known for her kindness, resilience, and unwavering love for those around her. Janice "fought the good fight, finished her course and kept the faith. Janice will receive the crown of righteousness, laid up for her which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give to her at that day." (2 Timothy 4:7-8).
Janice lived a life full of compassion and joy, cherishing time spent with family, friends and those she allowed in her "circle". Whether through her laughter, wisdom, or generosity, she touched the lives of many and will forever be remembered with love. She had a quiet joy, never boisterous, and her wit was unmatched. She will be remembered having a squeaky soprano voice especially when sharing her "Hi Precious" and "Hey Girl" greetings. She had a melodious voice and loved music of all genres but especially gospel music.
She was a 1968 graduate of Claremont Central Hugh School. Alongside her beloved mother, Janice spent time cooking, canning, taking trips to fruit farms and shopping. She was a Teacher's Aide at The Learning Tree for many years.
Her life and world forever changed at the loss of her dearest and closest friend, her mother, Jeanette H. Killian. Her only brother, John Terrell Henderson and step-father, John Killian also preceded her in death.
Janice will be remembered in the hearts of her many cousins and friends. She especially enjoyed connecting with dear friends, Deborah Heard and Carolyn Thompson who provided compassionate love and care to her the past three years. Janice never forgot to thank them even as they pushed her to go further and further and they would not allow her to give up.
She was truly a remarkable person. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her spirit will live on in the hearts of those who knew, loved and accepted her.
