Mr. James Robert Sims was born March 2, 1954 to the late James Earl and Louise Clement Sims in Cleveland County, North Carolina. James went to be with the Lord on November 27, 2021 following a lengthy illness at Carolina Caring in Hickory, North Carolina.

James was a Veteran of the United States Army where he served his country with great pride. He was an avid billiards player winning several pool tournaments.  James was a member of Whosoever Will Full Gospel Church.  He retired as a North Carolina Corrections Officer.

James is preceded in death in addition to his parents by a brother, Charles Sims and a brother in law Garfield Wilson, a father-in-law Terry Washington and a mother-in-law Betty Washington.

James  will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him and leaves to cherish his precious memories , his devoted wife of 25 years, LaDosa Jane Washington Sims of the home; children Vince James Sims, Jason (Erica)Sims and  Rammi MiShuda Washington, Sr.; grandchildren, Rammi Mishuda Washington, Jr., Alano Washington, Jayden Washington, Kash Washington, Jayxion Sims and Saniya Washington; god daughter Brittney L. Colvin; sister, Lenora Sims; brothers and sisters-in-laws LaDosca Jean Washington of Hickory, North Carolina, Sonia Wilson of Knoxville, Tennessee, Phyllis Sims of Shelby, North Carolina, Renea Colvin of Hickory, North Carolina, Shantel Williams of Atlanta, Georgia, Raymond (Deborah) Washington of Knoxville, Tennessee, Leonarda Berry of Evansville, Indiana and Patrick Lockhart of Shelby, North Carolina; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
