Obituary
Mrs. Harriet Rink Patterson, daughter of the late Elder Harry Lee Rink and Evangelist Mary Gore Rink, was born January 7, 1932 in Hickory, Catawba County, North Carolina. She was a blessed 91 years, 9 months and 20 days old. She departed her earthly life and received her heavenly reward on October 27, 2023.
Mrs. Patterson attended Ridgeview School. Her family relocated to West Virginia where she won the Oratorical Contest and graduated from Elkorn High School.
Mrs. Patterson was a member of the Red Hatters – Queen Margaret and an original member of the Soulettes as well as an original member of the Parkerlettes.
She retired from the Children's Hospital in Washington, District of Columbia and was a member of Morning Star First Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Patterson was preceded in death by brothers, Lee Jackson Rink, Gerold Rink and sisters, Mary Rink Johnson and Margaret Rink Spruell.
Left to cherish fond loving memories are siblings, a brother James Elliott (Beatrice) Rink of Forney, Texas; sisters, Jessie Rink Oglesby of Hickory, North Carolina and Bernice Rink Williams of Washington, District of Columbia; a brother-in-law, Frank Johnson of Suitland Heights, Maryland; a sister-in-law, Willie Rink of Hickory, North Carolina; a host of nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nephews, other relatives and friends.
