Dorothy La-Etta
Ramseur Colbert
Jul 21, 1958 — Jan 12, 2025
Hickory
Reflection of Life
Mrs. Dorothy La-Etta Ramseur Colbert transitioned from her earthly life to life eternal on January 12, 2025 at Frye Regional Medical Center, Hickory, North Carolina. She was born July 21, 1958 in Catawba County, North Carolina to the late Tommy and Catherine Lohr Ramseur.
Dorothy was a member of Victory Christian Center, Charlotte, North Carolina for the past 30 years but began her Christian journey at Rhoney's Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Zion Church. Intercessory prayer for others was her strength and passion. She was indeed a strong Prayer Warrior. She had faith in God and loved her family.
She was employed many years as a CNA and had worked for Home Instead.
Dorothy enjoyed her friends and family gatherings. She especially loved
football and was an avid Panthers fan.
In addition to her parents, Dorothy was preceded in death by her brothers, Tommy L. Ramseur, Mark Edward Ramseur and John Steven Ramseur; as well as her grandparents Rosetta Ramseur, Rosa Mae Ramseur and Claler Lohr; and a great aunt Frances Lohr Peebles. Dorothy had a love for life and will be sorely missed by many. She leaves a family with many cherished memories: her husband, Robert Colbert of the home; step son, Ryan Colbert of Conover, North Carolina; grandsons, Rijah Colbert of Conover, North Carolina and Jacob Colbert of Statesville, North Carolina; a brother, Monroe Ramseur of Hickory, North Carolina; special nephew and niece, Jonathan Ramseur and Elainnia Ikard both of Hickory, North Carolina; a sister in law, Belinda Barron of Hickory, North Carolina; special cousins, Robin Sykes, Edward Sykes, Kimberly Clark, Linda Ramseur, and Gwen Hilliard; along with host of other treasured relatives and friends.
