Mr. Desmond Leon Smith was born September 7, 1967 to the late George
Smith and Virginia Mitchell Smith in Catawba County, North Carolina.
He unexpectedly departed this earthly life to his life eternal on February8, 2025, at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Desmond was a 1986 graduate of Hickory High School. He loved football and was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan.
Desmond was a loving husband, father, and grandfather and was most recently employed by the City of Hickory and Public Housing Authority.
Desmond leaves to cherish fond loving memories his wife Katina Anderson of the home; son, Kaylond Smith of Hickory, North Carolina; daughters, Tracia Smith of Hickory, North Carolina, LaTisha Smith of Lincolnton, North Carolina; brothers, Tony Mungro of Hickory, North Carolina and Todd Smith of Charlotte, North Carolina; sister, Tora Smith
of Hickory, North Carolina; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
