Mr. Charles Franklin McCullough of Claremont, North Carolina, departed this earthly life unexpectedly on February 10, 2026 at Catawba Valley Medical Center.
Affectionately known as "Buster" to his many family and friends, Charles was born on September 2, 1956 to the late Harvey Lee McCullough and Lois McCullough Flowers. He was 69 years, 5 months and 8 days old.
Charles was a devout member of the Browns Chapel United Methodist Church where he served as a Trustee and an Usher. He helped in many other capacities. During his work career, he took pride in preparing special diets for patients at the University of Arkansas Research Hospital, where he retired.
Charles truly loved his family and friends. He had a special affection for fishing and working in lawn care. He especially loved spending quality time with his Pastor and close friend, Reverend Charles Young.
In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by a brother, Melvin McCullough; a nephew, Victor Wilkes; and a great nephew, Aaron Lineberger.
Charles leaves to cherish his fond and loving memories a son, Jabez McCullough and his son's mother, Dana McCullough, both of Statesville, North Carolina; brothers, Elder Harvey E. McCullough of Charlotte, North Carolina and Glenn (Tasha) Barber of Newton, North Carolina; sisters, Linda (Rickie) Gibbs of Stockbridge, Georgia and Lorrie Lawrence of Wake Forest, North Carolina; nephews, Tyrone Wilkes, Devin McCullough, Darius McCullough and Shydaruene McCullough; nieces, Shannon Stockton and Kisha Lineberger; aunts, Estelle Wilson and Daphne McCullough; special friends including his Pastor, Reverend Charles Young, Carlin Kale, Chenelle Connor, Wilford McCombs and Glenn Kennedy; along with a host of great nephews and nieces, relatives and friends.
Charles' light will continue to shine in the hearts of those who knew him. His memory will forever be a blessing.
Homegoing Celebration will take place on Friday, February 20, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Browns Chapel United Methodist Church 1346 Brown Chapel Road, Catawba, North Carolina, 28609.
Family Visitation will take place from 1:00 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. at the church. The Reverend Charles Young, Pastor and Officiating.
Interment will follow at Concord Church Cemetery, 7618 Monbo Road, Catawba, North Carolina 28609
