Charles Anthony Baptista was born on September 15, 1962, in Wareham, Massachusetts. It is with great sadness that we announce, he peacefully departed this world on May 8, 2024, at the age of 61.

Charles dedicated 25 years of his life to serving the City of Hickory, where his commitment and hard work left an indelible mark. Though he shared fond memories, and met many friends along the way, he was proud to announce his retirement prior to his passing.

He is predeceased by his father Charles L. Baptista, and grandparents Elvira Baptista, Joseph DeAndrade and Laura Pina DeAndrade. He is survived by his mother Laura Baptista and siblings Charlee Baptista and Carla Texiera.

Charles will forever be remembered as a devoted father and a loyal friend. His genuine warmth and welcoming nature meant that he never met a stranger. His love knew no bounds, extending to his surviving children, Patrice Baptista and Caleb Baptista, as well as to his sisters, cousins, nephews, and countless others whose lives he touched.

In the wake of his passing, Charles leaves behind a legacy of compassion and kindness that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know him. While his physical presence may be gone, his memory will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of crossing paths with him.

A memorial service to honor Charles Anthony Baptista's life will be held in Massachusetts, with details to be announced at a later date. As we bid farewell to a beloved son, father, and friend, let us take solace in the cherished memories we shared with him and the profound impact he had on our lives.
