Reflections of a Life Well Lived

Mrs. Brenda Fay Eskridge, daughter of the late Corean Eskridge and Sam Shuford, was born March 9, 1960 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She departed this earthly life on March 14, 2025 after a lingering illness at Frye Regional Medical Center. She was 65 years and 5 days old.

Brenda, affectionately known as "Trouble", was indeed loving, caring and giving to those whom she loved. And for other people she could be "Trouble" and lived up to that name. She, along with her wife, Gloria Montgomery, was immensely proud of their children and grandchildren.

Mrs. Eskridge was retired as a Certified Nurse Assistant in the Healthcare Industry. She loved to read and was a published poet. She was a member of Exodus Missionary Outreach Church of Christ. Brenda was a true leader who will be sorely missed by all.

In addition to her parents, loved ones who went before Brenda were her son, Dereco Eskridge; grandson Shaquan Allred; and brothers, Larry Eskridge and Thomas Eskridge.

She leaves to cherish fond loving memories her wife, Gloria Montgomery of the home; daughters, Ashley Rogers (Curtis) of Hickory, North Carolina, Latosha Montgomery and Kahjia Montgomery both of Hickory, North Carolina, Crystal Banks of Charlotte, North Carolina, Alexis Montgomery of Greensboro, North Carolina, Brandi Montgomery of Raleigh, North Carolina; son, Gregory Montgomery (Melissa) of Hickory, North Carolina; grandchildren, Kristian and Alana Dobson, Devon and Ryan Rhinehart, Christopher Allred, Serenity and Gregory, Jr. Montgomery, Preston, Kameron, and Mackenzie Barnett, and Amina Haith; brothers, John Eskridge, Dale Eskridge (Faithe) and Alton Eskridge all of Hickory, North Carolina; sister, Patricia Eskridge of Hickory, North Carolina; special friends, Judy Cartrette, Wanda Jones and Lisa Broome; along with a host of other relatives and friends.
The Celebration of the Life of Mrs Brenda Fay Eskridge will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at the Walter Gladys Memorial Chapel of Dirk M. Thompson Mortuary at 1:00 p.m. with Reverend Anetia Wright officiating and Eulogist.
