Reflections of Life
Ms. Betty Jean Foster, won the battle to a lingering illness as she entered eternal rest from her labor, gaining heavenly wings on March 26, 2025 at Abbotts Creek Center in Lexington, North Carolina. Betty was born to the late McDowell and Sallie Pope Foster on March 20, 1947 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She was 77 years, 11 months and 24 days blessed. Ms. Foster retired from Essex County Community College as an Administrator. She mentored grade school youth. She was a longtime member of Hartzell Memorial United Methodist Church.

Ms. Foster loved bowling, going to casinos and enjoyed traveling especially cruising. She had a passion for Broadway Shows. Betty was a 1965 graduate of Ridgeview High School and aspired to be an attorney.

Ms. Foster was fervent in her heart to help young people. Betty loved her family and friends and was often thought to want to be in control of everything. She especially loved her son, Kenneth, who was her pride and joy.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Ralph Foster and sister, Altheria Rowe Foster.

Left to cherish fond loving and lasting memories are her son, Kenneth Foster of Charlotte, North Carolina; brothers, Nathaniel Foster (Rose) of Knoxville, Tennessee, McDonald Foster (Judy) and Algeria Foster, both of Newton, North Carolina; she will also be sorely missed by many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A Celebration of Life for Ms. Betty Jean Foster will be held on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at Hartzell Memorial United Methodist Church, Hickory, North Carolina at 3:00 p.m.

Interment Southside Cemetery, Hickory, North Carolina.
