Reflections of Life
Ms. Amelia Ruth Connor Williamson, daughter of the late Fred and Helen Roseman Connor, was born October 27, 1951 in Catawba County, North Carolina. She departed this earthly life on July 30, 2024. She was 72 years 9 months and 3 days old.
Amelia, lovingly known as "Momma D" to some, was a caring and giving person with a steadfast love for her family.
She was immensely proud of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She always tried her best to be present in their lives. She loved to cook for her family and friends.
Amelia loved to smell good. She loved Western movies, crossword puzzles and word search. She especially enjoyed eating with her sisters at Golden Coral and she also loved Captain Galley.
Amelia had a special fondness and bond with her great grandson, Asher. She passed on her love for collecting things to her family and friends.
Amelia was a charter member of Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church.
In addition to her parents, Amelia was preceded in death by her siblings: brothers, Macarthur Connor, Johnny Connor, Fred Connor and Willie Connor; and a sister, Helen Christine Herndon.
She leaves to cherish fond loving memories her children; sons, Fraser Williamson of Conover, North Carolina and Billy Dee Williamson of Hickory, North Carolina; a daughter, Christie Williamson of Shelby, North Carolina; granddaughters, Ashley (Kameron) Rucker and Katelyn Williamson both of Statesville, North Carolina; a special great grandson, Asher Rucker; a brother, George Connor; sisters, Brenda (Reverend Charles) Ferguson, Joyce Wilfong, Malinda Kennedy and Eula (Larry) Kee; a brother in-law, Ernest Herndon and a sister in-law Sandra Connor; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.

Celebration of Life service to be held on Sunday, August 4, 2024 at 2:00p.m. at Greater Faith Missionary Baptist Church, Hickory, North Carolina. The family will receive family and friends from 2:00-3:00 p.m. at the church.
